Making talent recruitment more digital

On the hunt for top talent? In today's environment of widespread skill shortages, savvy talent recruitment has become crucial. In a recent Deloitte survey, 83 percent of executives pointed to talent acquisition as a critical piece of their company's strategy.

Today's job candidates are looking for a quick, simple and engaging recruitment process. Consider the following as you re-examine yours.

Video interviews

The use of video has been transforming job interviews across industries. Video interviews can save money and speed up hiring time. Hilton employed a video interviewing platform and cut its recruitment cycle to five days from six weeks, according to the Deloitte report, which also found that video interviews can cut prehire assessment questions from 200 down to a mere five.

Simulations and gaming

Especially for millennials, simulations and gaming can help engage potential employees while analyzing whether they'll be able to thrive in a given role. Global consumer products giant Unilever created an all-digital graduate recruiting process that includes games, video interviews and a "day in the life at Unilever" simulation.

Make it mobile-friendly

One in 10 millennials wouldn't consider a company if they couldn't apply via their mobile device, according to a recent CareerBuilder survey. The ability to search and apply for jobs on mobile is a must. Work with your IT team to make sure the process is seamless.

Chatbots and artificial intelligence

Chatbots are becoming increasingly popular. IBM's AI-powered recruitment tool Watson can determine how hard it will be to fill certain jobs. It also provides analytics on how likely it is that a candidate will be successful.

Reinvent your careers site

More candidates these days are finding employers, rather than the reverse. That means your careers site needs to immediately engage visitors. For example, Rolls-Royce built out a dynamic multimedia site that uses video, infographics, bold imagery and impactful copy to inspire and motivate potential hires.


More and more companies have begun incorporating digital technologies into their talent recruitment strategy. Don't be left behind.
